Rules and Policies
Rules:
No Food or Drink in Class
Respect
No SLEEPING
Be on time
Come Prepared
No Cell Phones

Policies:
Late Homework Policy:  You may turn late homework in for deductions up to the point when I return that assignment back to your classmates with a grade on it.  This is to prevent copying and cheating.  If I have returned an assignment with a grade on it and you have not turned it in, you are out of luck and may not turn it in….NO EXCEPTIONS

Make-Up Work:
If you know there is a test or review day and you are absent, you WILL take the test the day you return.  Call one of your friends to find out what the review was about.  You will always know a couple days in advance when the test is.  The same is true for homework, have it ready when you return.

If you are absent on a day something is assigned you get one extra day to make it up for every day you are absent.

If you are absent on a day when a major project is due you MUST find a way to get it into school by the end of the day.

Materials:
Keeping organized is the key to my class.  Make sure you have a notebook for note-taking and a folder to hold all of your returned papers.

We do a lot of little projects in here so if you happen to have markers or colored pencils those will come in handy.

Hello, my name is Karen Jordan and I am in my 6th year of teaching Social Studies here at Wilmington High School.  I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Minors in History and Geography.  I then went to Ohio Dominican University to get my teacher licensure in Secondary Social Studies Education.  I have completed my Masters Degree from Walden University with focus on Integrating Technology into the Classroom. In my years at WHS I have taught US History, World History, Psychology, AP Government, Government, and Economics.

I am married to Joe who is a Pharmacist in Springfield, Ohio.  We currently reside in Springfield with our dog Chica.  In our free time we love to travel, usually to tropical places.  We are big fans of cruises and will jump at the chance to take a vacation.  In my spare time I like to bake, read, exercise, and watch television.

I look forward to another exciting year here at WHS.  If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
