Basic Expectations

Holmes Elementary School supports a school-wide Positive Behavior Support (PBS) system. This research based framework    focuses on prevention of problem behaviors while maximizing academic success. The three expectations are to respect yourself, respect others and respect property.   Settings outside the classroom include arrival/dismissal, cafeteria, playground, hallway and restrooms. We will consistently celebrate good choices that take place throughout the building related to these three expectations.

Parent Lending Library
Last year, with Title 1 state funds, we purchased $2000.00 worth of reading and math games.  These games are located in the library.  They are for the parents to come in and check out.  We have tried to purchase items that would appeal to all grade levels K-5.  Students and teachers cannot check these games out - only parents.  Next time you visit our school, stop by the library and see what’s available.  There are more than just games, there are magnetic letters and dry erase boards with markers as well. Items may be checked out between 9:00 and 3:00 daily.  Our librarian, Mrs. Adams, will be glad to assist you.

Campbell Soup UPC’s, Box Tops for Education, Tyson Project A+ items

The Labels for Education program is a great way to get FREE merchandise for our school, and Campbell, General Mills and Tyson Foods  makes it so easy to redeem labels. To take advantage of these programs, we need to collect labels/UPC codes. Participating in the program is easy -  simply save UPC codes/labels from the products and send them to school. :Holmes Elementary recycles these labels and UPC codes for our school.  We can receive cash and/or equipment for these.  Please take a moment and cut out the labels for our kids.  Thanks for all your support!

Walk-A-Thon
Our PTO Walk-a-Thon raised over $2000 thanks to YOU!
Kindergarten collected the most per grade level and won popsicles and extra recess.  Mrs. Slone's room had the honor of the "Pie in the Principal's Face" with the top classroom total.  The highest individual winner was Ricky Dugan.  He won a Nintendo DSI.

Mrs. Zeigler was a good sport!  She took a pie in the face for the fundraiser.  Ricky Dugan, top individual winner, threw the pie!  He and Mrs. Slone class had the top classroom total.
