Literature Focus
Our current classroom novel is Johnny Tremain. This novel, written by Ester Forbes, takes us as spectators through the beginning of the American Revolution. Our focus of study will be on characterization and conflict. Forbes does a fabulous job of interwining fictional and historical characters like Paul Revere, Sons of LIberty and John Hancock. Respected for historical accuracy, Johnny Tremain will help support the 8th grade Social Studies standards that deal with the American Revolution.
