Due to continued issues with A/C at Denver & classroom temperatures continuing to rise, school will be canceled at Denver Elementary only on Thursday, September 17. All other Wilmington City Schools buildings will be on normal schedule.
We know that an unexpected school closure is not easy for our families, and we do not make this decision lightly. However, we want to make sure we are providing a safe, comfortable, and productive learning environment for our students and staff.
Our maintenance team will use the day tomorrow to complete necessary repairs to the chiller system, and we are also working to provide fans for classrooms. Our goal is to have students return to Denver on Friday.
