Safety One-Call 9/4/18

Posted on: September 4, 2018

Good Evening,

This is a message to all Wilmington High School students and families from your principal, Dr. Unger.

School safety is our priority and that is why I want to inform you of an incident that happened today at school. During class a student accidentally dispensed pepper spray.  The class was immediately relocated to another room in the building, and we were able to identify and deal with the students involved. We are fortunate that no one was injured from this incident.   I am taking this opportunity to share this information as a reminder to all of our students and families that carrying mace or pepper spray on school property or at a school event is not permitted.

Please take the opportunity to talk to your child about making sure that they do not carry any items that are capable of inflicting serious bodily harm or property damage, as well as endangering the health and safety of our students and staff.

Thank you for your partnership in helping us keep a safe school environment.

Have a good evening.
