WCS School Board

Board meetings are typically the 4th Monday of every month, except when the 4th Monday fall on a holiday or when students are on spring/winter break. Special meetings are occasionally held in between regular meetings and are announced in the Wilmington News Journal.

If you wish to speak at a general session on a matter not on the general agenda, please notify District Treasurer Kimberly DeWeese no later than 4:00 PM on the Thursday prior to the Board Meeting. If you wish to speak on an item currently on the general agenda, please notify the Treasurer prior to the start of the meeting.

Special Meeting January 26, 2024 at 7:15 AM: The Wilmington City School Board of Education will have a Special Board Meeting on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 7:15 AM for a Board Work Session on finances, personnel, and levy considerations. The meeting will be held at the Board of Education Offices located at 341 South Nelson Ave, Wilmington, OH 45177.

Special Meeting January 18, 2024 at 6 PM:  The Wilmington City School Board of Education will have a Special Board Meeting on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 6:00 PM for a Board Work Session regarding school fees, extra-curricular fees, and potential cuts for the 2024-25 school year. The meeting will be held at the Board of Education Offices located at 341 S. Nelson Ave, Wilmington, OH 45177.

Special Meeting 12/6/23 at 6:00 PM: The Wilmington City Schools Board of Education will have a special board meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023 at 6 p.m. to discuss finances and decisions for the 2024-25 school year pending the results of the March 19 election. No action will be taken. The meeting will be held in the board room at Central Office, located at 341 S. Nelson Ave., Wilmington. All meetings are open to the public. If you wish to address the board at the meeting on a non-agenda item, you must notify the treasurer, Kim DeWeese, at 283-7493 no later than 4 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the meeting. If you wish to address the board on agenda items, please notify the treasurer any time prior to the meeting.

6/5/23 Special Meeting: The Wilmington City School Board of Education will have a Special Board Meeting on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 4:00 PM for a Board Work Session on finances and new Board Policy considerations. No Action will be taken. The meeting will be held at the Board of Education Offices located at 341 South Nelson Ave, Wilmington, OH 45177. All meetings are open to the public. 1/5/23 2023 Organizational Meeting: The Organizational Meeting of the Board of Education of Wilmington City Schools will be held at the Board of Education Offices at 341 South Nelson Avenue on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 7:15 AM. All meetings are open to the public. Contact Kim DeWeese, Treasurer with any questions at 937-283-7493.

6/15/22, 6/16/22, 6/20/22 Special Meetings: The Wilmington City School Board of Education will have the following Special Board Meetings to conduct interviews for the position of Superintendent. The interviews will be held in executive session to consider the employment of a public employee. The meeting will be held in the Board Room at Central Office located at 341 S. Nelson Avenue, Wilmington, OH 45177.

Special Meeting 6/13/22: The Wilmington City School Board of Education will have a Special Board Meeting on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 5:30 PM to discuss the employment of a public official or employee. The discussion will be held in executive session.

The meeting will be held in the Board Room at Central Office located at 341 S Nelson Avenue, Wilmington, OH 45177.

Special Mtg 6/1/22: The Wilmington City School Board of Education will have a Special Board Meeting on Wednesday, June 1 at 5:00 PM on the following topics: Memorandum of Understanding with OAPSE for Juneteenth Holiday, adoption of the McGraw-Hill Illustrative Math series (grade 6-12), location of preschool services for 2022-23, and hiring of personnel for 2022-23 school year.

The meeting will be held in the Board Room at Central Office located at 341 S Nelson Avenue, Wilmington, OH 45177.

No Action will be taken. The meeting will be held in the Media Center at the Wilmington Middle School located at 275 Thorne Ave, Wilmington, OH 45177.
