Fastweb - Fastweb is one of the oldest and most popular scholarship search engines. Students can make a profile and have the site match them to scholarships they may be eligible for, as well as sign up for email alerts for new scholarships.

Scholarships.com - Scholarships.com has a massive database of national scholarships available to students. It has several features that make it easy for you to find your next scholarship!

 

FAFSA/Federal Aid

FAFSA (studentaid.gov) - The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. All students attending college next year should fill it out! The FAFSA will become available on January 1st, and filling it out by February 15th is a good idea. Check out their website for more information about documents you will need to complete it.

Federal Student Aid Information (studentaid.gov) - This is a great website for parents and students that have either general or specific questions about federal aid (covered under the FAFSA). This is a great resource for anyone wondering how to pay for college.

College Exploration

Big Future
Big Future is run by College Board, home of the PSAT, SAT, and AP tests. Big Future has a variety of tools that students can use, including ones that help them find colleges and scholarships that match their academic profile and preferences.

College Navigator
This straightforward site is run by the National Center for Education Statistics and focuses on fact-based college research. It is easy to find a variety of information about colleges.

College Greenlight
On College Greenlight, you can find out more about colleges you are interested and who might be interested in you! Create a profile and link it with your high school counselor so we can help you find the college that is right for you.

Common App

Common App
Hundreds of colleges and universities use the Common App, which is a one-stop shop for college applications. You can do one basic application and use it for several schools!

Testing

ACT
The ACT is a commonly used college entrance exam, with the vast majority of colleges accepting it for admission. Students can find sign-up information as well as test prep on their website. We also have test information/prep booklets in the Counseling Center.

SAT
The SAT is a massively popular college entrance exam, similar in use to the ACT. At their website, students can find more information on signing up for the test and how to prepare for the test, as well as the new changes on the test for next year!

Career Exploration

Ohio Means Jobs
Ohio Means Jobs is a tool that all WHS students will become familiar with. Students can create their own "backpack," or profile, and begin to explore a variety of careers through interest inventories and profiles. There are so many features to the site-it is definitely a good one to check out!

BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook
Research a wide variety of data about careers, including wages, job openings, and more! You can also view the highest paying jobs as well as careers with the largest projected growth.
