Supt Spotlight, Episode 3

Posted on: March 5, 2021

This week’s Wilmington City Schools Superintendent Spotlight starts at Denver Elementary with our third, fourth and fifth grade students.

It was an honor for me to spend time with a group of students at Denver, listening and learning about what they value in their education and love about going to school.  They also provided me with some insight in ways to enhance their learning and experience.   Our student voices are important.

Thank you to Emma, Aiden, Kella, Kaelyn, Ava, Jadiyn, Taralynn, Adrian for making Wilmington a great place to work and learn.

The next spotlight goes to Art Teacher, Mr. Doug Davis.  Mr. Davis has not been deterred by COVID-19. He has discovered solutions that provide all students a creative outlet to express their feelings through different mediums of art.

This week’s final spotlight goes to our Wilmington middle and high school choirs under the direction of Ms. Warner for their hard work in preparing for their Spring Concerts that started this week.

Be sure to check out our this month’s newsletter and our calendars for more information on upcoming choir and band concerts.

It was another great week to be a Hurricane.  Have a wonderful weekend.
